Carlo was born in London in 1991 and grew up in Milan, Italy. After his First Communion, at seven, he went to Mass every day he could, and he called the Eucharist his “highway to heaven”.

Carlo was very good with computers, and he used them to build a website and an exhibit about Eucharistic miracles that has traveled all over the world. When he got sick at 15, he offered his suffering for the Pope and the Church. His tomb is in Assisi, where many young people visit him.

What are Carlo Acutis’s miracles?

The Church approved two healings that came after people asked Carlo to pray for them: God works the miracle, and Carlo prays with us. In Brazil in 2013, a little boy named Matheus Vianna, born with a problem in his pancreas that kept him from eating, got completely better, and Carlo was declared Blessed in 2020. In 2022, Valeria Valverde, a student from Costa Rica, was badly hurt in the head in a bicycle accident in Florence, Italy. Her mother prayed at Carlo’s tomb in Assisi, and Valeria got well very quickly. With this second miracle, Carlo was declared a saint.
